One of the ideas I came up with for Zipcar was a day when we would pay for your cars metered parking if you asked us about our alternative transportation method.
The best case scenario was that the promotion was a way to get people that already work downtown and do not bother to park in a garage because they use their car all day to think about using Zipcar instead.
Worse case scenario it gave us an icebreaker to talk to people passing us on the street.
