Vital Information.

If you haven’t figured out by now, you’re at a webpage on the Internet for R.J. Schmidt; that’s me. I’m a Robert Morris University graduate, amateur photographer, and I know the difference between a disk and a disc.

After taking advantage of some awesome opportunities while enrolled at RMU I started working for CBS Radio Pittsburgh the summer before my Junior year of college. I worked my way from a simple promotions intern to in-studio board operator to on-site remote engineer. Over the course of four and a half years I was able to participate in hundreds of live broadcasts, lead thousands of sales promotion events, and work with some amazing people.

In October of 2009 I branched out to a brand ambassador position with Zipcar Pittsburgh - serving as one of the only face to face contacts that current and potential members would ever encounter for the car sharing business.  I had a lot of fun talking to people on the streets of Pittsburgh neighborhoods and trying to help them with their transportation needs.

At the end of 2010 I left my position with Zipcar to start my current job with Sinclair Broadcast Group which is WPGH FOX 53 and WPMY My Pittsburgh TV here in town. As a Local Sales Assistant I help create compelling sales presentations, provide analytics to a team of four managers and over a dozen account executives, manage client accounts and digital offerings for the stations.

Along the way I have been fortunate enough to pepper my work experience with freelance jobs and special event trips which help round out my media experiences.
